One Piece TCG Market Notes September 2026

September did not see a broad move across the Japanese One Piece Card Game market. Instead, it became more differentiated. OP-17 continued to lose much of its early-release premium, while selected cards from older sets began recovering sharply from their recent lows. The strongest bull moves were spread across OP-01, OP-04, OP-06, OP-08, OP-09, OP-11 and OP-12 rather than being confined to one release.

Data cut-off: September 30, 2026. Prices below are Japanese-market observations. Percentage changes are calculated from the reported September change and current reference price, and should be considered as market indicators and not guaranteed future returns.

The Bigger Story Is Older Sets

The best-performing cards in September were not new sets.

Japanese market aggregation data ranks the OP01-003 Monkey D. Luffy Leader Parallel among the top gainers of the month, recovering 172% from its 30-day low. The OP06-001 Uta Leader Parallel was also up an impressive 101%, while the OP06-022 Yamato Leader Parallel climbed 34.3%. Also OP12-020 Zoro Leader Parallel and older set cards in general were big contributors to the Japanese market’s September comeback.

Important nuance: these are not rookie sets, and none of these cards were in any way ‘new’.

They had been on the market for a while, and seeing value return to older sets is always interesting

Bullish Signals

The strongest bullish moves are within OP-09, where multiple cards are currently rising. Current Japanese market data shows majority of OP-09 cards, including SPs, Leader Parallels, and SEC Parallels, are showing upward trends.

The second is return of interest to older cards from OP-01 through OP-12, several of the month’s strongest movers were cards that have been out in the market for a while.

Bearish Signals

The most negative factor remains the new-release supply.

OP-17 demonstrated how quickly early premiums can disappear once more cards reach the market.

In addition, there is a regulatory risk.

Bandai has announced that OP14-020 Dracule Mihawk will be banned from October 12. The ban makes cards that complement the existing Mihawk environment less attractive.

October Catalysts

October begins with two major confirmed developments.

EB-05 ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2 will be released in Japan on October 31, with the release events .

Meanwhile, OP-18 is also confirmed, with Nico Robin as the Super Parallel and Franky as a Leader. The set will also feature Holy Knights-related cards, as well as Yoshitaka Amano illustrations for Shamrock and Loki.

These developments could divert the attention back to the new releases and competitive cards.

DojoTCG View

At DojoTCG, our focus stays on the Japanese market and the distinction between short-term movement and sustained demand.

September brought us a number of interesting signals from older releases, while OP-17 continues its transition away from launch pricing. Going forward into October, we will be watching on whether the September strength in OP-01, OP-04, OP-06, OP-09 and select OP-11/12 cards can hold as the release calendar and competitive environment change.
